Thomas L. Valach

Born in Missoula, Montana, I graduated with honors from the University of Montana with a Bachelor of Fines Arts in Drama - emphasis: Design/Tech.

I worked for expo '74, The Worlds Fair in Spokane, Washington in 1974 and also Tommy Walker Productions in Los Angeles, California in 1975.

After a summer designing scenery for The Mountain Playhouse in Jennerstown, Pennsylvania, I stopped in Minneapolis to visit some college friends on my way back to Los Angeles. I never left...

My work in the Twin Cities has been for educational, community, professional and commercial companies. I have designed scenery, lighting, costumes and props for over 400 productions at this point and shows include comedy, drama, opera, ballet, and even some television.

I have worked with Chimera Theater, Out & About Theater, St. Croix Valley Community Theater, Theatre in the Round Players, Riverside Theater, Off Broadway Music Theater, Edina High School, Roseville Area High School, Penumbra Theater, St. Paul City Ballet, Ordway Music Theater, Minnesota Festival Theater, Missoula Children’s Theater, Montana Repertory Theater, Spokane Civic Theater, The Blake Schools, University of Wisconsin River Falls, Plymouth Community Theater, Moundsview Community Theater, Normandale Community College, Century College, Anoka Ramsey Community College, Minnetonka High School, Troupe America, Anoka Opera Ensemble, Continental Ballet Company, Ex Machina, RSVP Travel Productions.

I have also worked with the Minnesota Historical Society, Minnesota State Fair, Malt Shop restaurant, Chocolate Moose Restaurant, Channel 15 in Blaine and Coon Rapids Community Television.

My new venture, in response to a request of a Wicca community member, is creating custom capes and cloaks under the label of CyloweT CreationS. Take a look at this section of my web site for more information.

In addition to designing for the theater, I have also switched hats and directed and choreographed several productions,. Most recently choreographed two productions for “You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown!” It was a blast to get up and dance again, I danced in the student company in college and appeared in several musicals.
